Shaped the outrigger a bit better this time. I think it'll fit rather nicely when I get a new wing (I'll go and look at the scrapyard on Wednesday). Welded a plate over the rusted hole under the washer bottle as well. Also, some burn-treatment advice after the jump (there's a pic, so people might be squeamish).

If you do end up burning yourself, it's a good idea to run it under cool water ( edit: not cold water as it can cause nerve and tissue damage ) to cool the area down. As soon as you've done that, smother the area in vaseline to stop it drying out. This will help reduce blistering and stop it hurting after a while. After that, you can either put on a rubber glove, or wrap it in cling-film and bandage it so you don't end up smearing it everywhere.

The Queen Victoria Hospital in the closest town to me is a national specialist centre for burns, and this is the technique they use there.

Moral of the story. Don't lean on bloody hot things.

Cool water - not cold water. Cold water will cause nerve and tissue damage.

Ah, very good to know. I'll change the main paragraph in case anyone doesn't look in the comments.

Good deal. The issue stems from shocking the cells with the large temperature difference they would experience going from hot to cold.
